It happens very seldom when a traveler chooses his way omitting the main town of the region. The fact is that Kherson is the place of crossing the highways Rostov-Odessa-Simpheropol, it has a railway and active sea-and-river connection.

The railway connection appeared here in 1907, when the first railway road between Kherson and Nikolaev has been laid. Since that time everyone who prefers traveling hearing carload wheels hammering may come to Kherson from any corner of Ukraine, Russia or Byelorus. Reconstructed edifice of Kherson Railway Station became the visit card of the town. Being constructed in the 1907 it was a witness of the last Russian emperor Nikolai II arrival. The building has received its modern view after the II World War and became an object of proud of its citizens being prepared to the 225 anniversary of its foundation. Due to the efforts of the Odessa railway and city community the station was completely reconstructed. There appeared more comfortable soft armchairs for passengers in the waiting room.

Nowadays the station is a center of the integrated architectural ensemble of Prevokzalnaya Square which includes a park zone, the hotel complex “Angelina”, booths and cafes beside. Those who have got hungry during the trip will undoubtedly estimate affinity of one of the city food markets to station.

It is possible to take pleasure of the taste of the whole milk, domestic sour cream, abundance of fruit and vegetables which inhabitants of suburban places and villages sell here.

There on the Privokzalnaya Square the route of trolleybus №1 begins just in front of the station. You can easily reach the city centre whether the bus, trolley or taxi for your choice.

Certainly the first who meet you in front of the station will be the drivers of private taxicabs.Taking into account the amount of private taxies Kherson maintains a competition not only to Odessa, but even Kiev. That is why the problem with transportation in Kherson will not trouble you.
